Legacy Versions of Salesforce CPQ End of Support

Publish Date: May 26, 2025
Description

As of November 1, 2020, Salesforce will no longer support legacy versions of the Salesforce CPQ managed package that are more than two releases behind the current generally available version of the managed package (“GA Version”).

If your current Salesforce CPQ Order Term was in effect prior to September 17, 2019, and extends beyond November 1, 2020, SFDC will continue to provide support for your current Salesforce CPQ managed package until the expiration of the Order Term.  You will need to upgrade to the GA version when you renew, but we encourage you to do so before November 2020 to take advantage of the most up-to-date features.

Resolution

Why did Salesforce make this change?

Salesforce is committed to delivering CPQ in the same way we deliver all of our core products. We want customers to receive the benefits of automatic upgrades and access to all the latest features, bug fixes, and innovations.

What did this mean?

Salesforce will no longer provide support under the Standard Success Plan for legacy versions that are more than two major releases behind the GA version of the Salesforce CPQ managed package. Technical support will be offered on a limited basis for those legacy versions. However, bug fixes and patches may no longer be available going forward.

What action did I need to take?

If you are using a version of the Salesforce CPQ managed package that is more than two releases behind the GA Version, you will need to upgrade your Salesforce CPQ managed package by November 1, 2020, via the CPQ managed package page. You can confirm the version number of your current Salesforce CPQ managed package by searching “Installed Packages” in Setup within your Org and finding the version number of the “Salesforce CPQ” package.  Depending on the version you’re currently using, you may incur additional costs in connection with the upgrade.

For guidance on upgrading CPQ to the latest release, please review our upgrade guidelines article.

What about the future upgrades?

Customers using the Salesforce CPQ managed package on the GA version will continue to be automatically upgraded to the newest GA Version each release on a prospective basis.
