The resolution for the Error 'Looks like there's a problem' Opening Activity in Lightning is to click the 'View All' link at the bottom of the Activity Timeline Lightning component.

After confirming that the Activity History and Open Activities related lists are added in the page layout, users may still encounter the following error message in Lightning Experience when they select 'View All'

You can't view this page, either because you don't have permission or because the page isn't supported on mobile devices.

This error may occur if:

  •  Activity 'Related To' or 'Name' fields are not set to visible in Field Level Security for the affected user's assigned profile.

 

  • The Activity History related list is not added to the Users personalized object record page.

In Lightning Experience
 
  1. Click on your avatar and then on Settings.
  2. Click on Display & Layout.
  3. Click on Customize My Pages.
  4. Choose the affected object (For example, Accounts, Contacts, etc.).
  5. Click on Customize My Pages.
  6. Add the Activity History from the Available List to the Selected List.
  7. Click on Save.

In Salesforce Classic
 
  1. Go to the affected object (for example, Accounts, Contacts, etc.) page.
  2. Open any record from the affected object.
  3. Click on Customize Page.
  4. Add the Activity History from the Available List to the Selected List.
  5. Click on Save.
