Restoration of Salesforce List Views After Deletion

Date de publication: Jun 11, 2026
Description

When a List View is deleted in Salesforce Lightning Experience or Salesforce Classic, there is no built-in option to restore or recover it. The Salesforce Recycle Bin stores deleted data records (such as Accounts, Contacts, and Opportunities) but does not include List View configurations. If a List View is deleted by mistake, the only recovery option is to create a new List View with the same filters and parameters.

Why List Views Cannot Be Restored

Salesforce does not currently support restoring a deleted List View. The Recycle Bin is limited to standard data records and does not capture List View definitions, filter criteria, or sharing settings. Once a List View is deleted, its configuration is permanently lost.

How to Recreate a Deleted List View

To recreate a deleted List View, create a new List View on the same object and re-apply the filters, columns, and sharing settings from memory or from a screenshot.
In Lightning Experience:

  1. Click any object tab (e.g., Accounts)
  2. Click the List View dropdown (the icon next to the current view name)
  3. Click New to create a new List View
  4. Enter a name and configure sharing settings
  5. Add the required filters and select the columns to display
  6. Click Save

In Salesforce Classic:

  1. Click any object tab
  2. Click Create New View (if available) or select Edit on an existing similar view as a starting point
  3. Set the view name, filters, and columns
  4. Click Save
