In Salesforce Lightning Experience, multiple page layouts can be assigned to different user profiles or record types for the same object. When troubleshooting a display issue or verifying a configuration change, administrators and support teams often need to identify which specific page layout is currently applied to a record.

How to Check Which Page Layout Is Applied to a Record

  1. Open the record in Salesforce Lightning Experience.
  2. Click the Gear icon in the upper right corner (next to the bell or question mark icon).
  3. Click Edit Page to open the Lightning App Builder.
  4. Click the Highlights panel on the page.
  5. On the right side of the page, the currently active page layout is displayed. It will be labeled with "(previewed)" to indicate which layout is in view.

Note: If a user does not have access to Setup or cannot see the Gear icon, check the user's profile to enable the "View Setup and Configuration" permission.
