Einstein Activity Capture Sharing Settings Default to 'Don't Share'

When a user is connected to Einstein Activity Capture (EAC) and sets their sharing settings to "Share to Everyone," the setting may unexpectedly revert to "Don't Share" when checking the activity history of the affected user. This article explains how to resolve this issue by disconnecting and reconnecting the EAC account and toggling the sharing settings to force a refresh.


To navigate to the sharing settings: go to your avatar > Settings > Quick Find: Einstein Activity Capture > expand Einstein Activity Capture > click Settings > check the Sharing Settings option.

This issue is caused by a synchronization inconsistency in Einstein Activity Capture (EAC) where the sharing settings are not refreshed after the initial configuration. Disconnecting and reconnecting the account, then toggling the sharing value, forces a refresh and persists the correct setting.

Steps to Resolve EAC Sharing Settings Reverting to 'Don't Share'

  1. Go to the Einstein Activity Capture (EAC) settings from your personal settings: click your avatar > Settings.
  2. In the Quick Find, enter Email and Calendar Accounts and click it.
  3. Click Disconnect, then click Reconnect to reconnect your account.
  4. Confirm the sharing settings show Share to Everyone.
  5. Change the setting to Don't Share and click Save.
  6. Refresh the page.
  7. Update the sharing settings again and select Share to Everyone.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Refresh the page one more time to confirm the selected option is retained.
