Description

Salesforce Maps offers specialized Data layers that you can use. This article provides a list of Descriptions, Use-cases, and Availability for each Data layer in Maps.

Data Layer Sunset Policy
Data layers are updated on a predetermined cadence based on updates from the data sources. If the data layer update is in the same format as previous releases the latest data layer vintage will be made available in Maps and the previous data layer vintage will be removed from Maps. If an update changes formats or we are forced to find a new source of data a new data layer is created.

Colleges & UniversitiesThis data contains the campus name, school name, and type of college campuses throughout the US. In addition, it includes the boundary polygon.This is primarily used for nonprofits.
Hospitals(USA)This data contains information on the hospital type, name, code, and related data.There are various government and nonprofit uses.
Airports(USA)This data contains airport information, such as whether the airport is for military use, whether it supports contract fueling and the elevation.Government agencies and nonprofits can use this information.
2011 Census, CanadaThe census is a collection of data on the number of people, dwellings, and other data.Government agencies use census data for planning and zoning.
Mexican Demographics (2010)This data has demographic information for Mexico (male/female population, median age, etc).This can be used for lead generation or market segmentation.
2010 Census, United StatesThe census is a collection of data on the number of people, dwellings, and other data.Government agencies use census data for planning and zoning.
2013 ACS 5yr, United StatesThis data contains information regarding earnings, poverty rate, languages spoken, etc.This can be used for lead generation or market segmentation.
