When a Salesforce user creates a new Case by clicking the quick link on the Account related list, the Account Name field on the Case may not be auto-populated after saving. This behavior is related to Field-Level Security (FLS) or Page Layout settings on the Case object. If the Account Name field is configured as Read-Only for the user's profile, Salesforce cannot populate it programmatically at save time.
A Salesforce admin can resolve this by granting Edit access to the Account Name field:
Note: The Account Name field is editable for System Administrators by default because of the Edit Read-Only Fields profile permission. Other profiles must have this permission enabled or the field's Read-Only flag removed.
