Salesforce Mobile App Behavior on iPadOS — Supported Versions and Known Limitations

Apple released iPadOS, a dedicated operating system for iPad devices, starting with iPadOS 13. This update gave Safari on iPad a desktop-class browsing experience, meaning that by default, accessing Salesforce via Safari on an iPadOS device loads the full desktop Lightning Experience rather than the Salesforce mobile browser experience.

This change affects how iPad users interact with Salesforce — both through the browser and through the Salesforce Mobile App.

Questions or Issues with Lightning Experience on iPad

If you encounter Lightning Experience UI differences between Safari on iPadOS versus a desktop or laptop, review the Lightning Experience on iPad Safari Considerations.
Safari is the only supported browser for iPad that provides a supported Salesforce experience. For Safari-specific issues, see Troubleshoot Issues with Safari.
Lightning Experience is the only full-site UI on iPad with a supported Salesforce experience. Salesforce Classic has never been supported on mobile devices. See Lightning Experience and Classic UI Full Site in Mobile Browsers.
As an alternative to Lightning Experience on iPad Safari, some Salesforce functionalities are supported on iPad through the Salesforce Mobile App, installed from the App Store. See Requirements for the Salesforce Mobile App.
