Run Data Mask Job
When configuration is complete, you can start to mask your sandbox data. Run the mask each time you want to replace or delete the data in your sandbox.
1. From the Data Mask Home tab of your sandbox, click the dropdown arrow for the masking configuration you want and select Run.
2. Monitor the progress of a run by viewing the status message in the list view for the mask job that is running.
• Processing X of X Steps—Status during an execution
• Last Run Aborted on —Status if job fails during the execution
• Last Ran —Status if job ran in the past
• Not Yet Run—Status for job that hasn’t started
3. To verify that the records are properly masked, manually spot check your sandbox data. Then you can grant more users access to the sandbox.
The masking process runs asynchronously and can take several hours for large sandboxes. If the Email Deliverability setting is set to All Emails, you receive an email when the job completes. To see more information about the masking process for each job, refer to the Masking Execution Logs tab in Data Mask.
Considerations:
1. Only Historical data is masked when we run configuration [New data needs re-ran configuration.]
2. You can run only one configuration at one time
3. We can re-run the same configuration for masking new data for that object's
4. Ensure Permission Set License Assignment is assigned to the user [Data Mask User] along with permission set with custom permission for 'datamask.DataMaskAccess'
Note: If the Email Deliverability setting is set to All Emails, you receive an email when the job completes.
Note: The latest version v.2.406 re-enables automations automatically.
Any challenges with not receiving email post completion of masking, review the job status from Apex Jobs or Once the job runs, refer to the run logs in the application for details or contact support for any needed assistance.
