This article explains how to resolve the error in Salesforce Outlook Integration where a user sees the message: "We encountered a problem. Contact your administrator and mention that your Exchange account is already associated with another Salesforce login" when attempting to log in. This error occurs when the Exchange account is already connected to a different Salesforce user in the Outlook Integration user mapping.

The following steps help an administrator identify which Salesforce user has already connected to the Exchange account, so the duplicate mapping can be removed and the correct user can connect.


Steps to Identify and Remove the Duplicate Mapping

  1. Install the Outlook integration debug tool
  2. Open the debug tool and find the User ID value
  3. Navigate to the Outlook Integration user mapping screen in Setup as per the steps at Revoke user access to Outlook Integration.
  4. Search for the User ID value in the EXCHANGE USER ID column in the User Mapping.
  5. The matching row displays the full name and username of the Salesforce user who has already connected that Exchange account.
  6. Delete the row to remove the existing connection and allow the new user to connect the Exchange account.
