Unable to Log In and Install a Salesforce AppExchange Application on a Sandbox Environment

Udgivelsesdato: Jan 3, 2025
Beskrivelse

You may encounter being stuck in a loop if attempting to log in to AppExchange when installing a package from a sandbox environment.  The below error may appear, even if your credentials are correct:

"Please check your username and password. If you still can't log in, contact your Salesforce administrator."

Løsning
  1. AppExchange inside your sandbox environment
  1. Log in to your sandbox instance.
  2. Click the App Launcher, the nine dots in the upper left corner of your screen, and select View All.
  3. On the far right, Click the Visit AppExchange button.
  4. Search for the app of your choice and select Try it Free.
  5. Follow the prompts to select Try in your sandbox and Continue to Installation.
  6. Select Log in & Install.

Please note: You do not need to be an Admin on the production environment but need to have the correct permissions on the target sandbox to install packages.  If you do not have production credentials, please reach out to your Salesforce Administrator to create the user record on the production environment.  Sandboxes carry over the user records that exist in the source environment whether in production or another sandbox (clone).

  1. AppExchange using direct link on a web browser
  1. Go to https://appexchange.salesforce.com/
  2. Log in with your production credentials.
  3. Search the app of your choice and select Try it Free.
  4. Choose the trial type desired, fill out the information form, then select Continue to Installation.
  5. Select Log in and Install. You will now be prompted to log in with your sandbox credentials, where the app will be installed.
