Contact Delete and Marketing Cloud Tracking

Udgivelsesdato: Oct 13, 2022
Beskrivelse
Once you have performed a Contact Delete operation in the Marketing Cloud, we will attempt to remove all Contact information against that Contact, including Tracking data.  Different applications handle tracking data differently.

Below is information about how Tracking data will appear within the Marketing Cloud, and Subscriber level channels.
Løsning

Email Studio

The following changes will impact Tracking within Email Studio:

  • Subscriber-level details from the Tracking grid, Reports, DataViews, and Measures
  • In Tracking reports, aggregate level tracking will populate the total results for the job, but accessing detailed tracking subscriber data will be blank
  • Tracking Extracts will contain a row of data for the deleted Subscriber but the SubscriberKey and EmailAddress identifier will be removed in those columns within Click/Open output file.   The Sent output file will not produce a row of data in these scenarios.

MobileConnect

Three changes are made to Tracking for SMS Messages:
  • The Contact Delete process will obfuscate the MobileNumber of the Contact in the DataViews
  • The MessageText will be replaced with 'DELETED'
  • The SubscriberID column will be set to 0
These changes will be reflected in the two SMS DataViews _SMSMessageTracking & _SMSSubscriptionLog and the MobileConnect SMS Message Detail Report.

Note: The Contacts will still be counted towards the aggregate data for the Sends.

MobilePush

MobilePush does not obfuscate any data for Reporting, MobilePush will delete the row of data.  The impact this has is it will be removed from the Reports and Extract that MobilePush provides:
  • Report - Push Account Summary
  • Report - Push Message Detail
  • Report - Push Message Summary
  • Report - Push In-App Account Summary Report
  • Extract - Detail Extract Report
