In Salesforce Maps, a bad address occurs when a record's address cannot be geocoded — meaning the system cannot convert it to latitude and longitude coordinates. This causes the record to fail to plot on the map. Bad addresses can result from incomplete, misspelled, or unrecognized address data.
If Salesforce Maps does not recognize or cannot match an address that is sent to the geocoding engine, it will output the address as a Bad Address. Bad addresses can stem from issues including incomplete or incorrect address info, new construction, or the Maps Base Object referencing incorrect address fields on the record.
You can drop a pin for bad addresses. This will set the location to the coordinates you specify on the Map. Salesforce maps will plot this marker at that location in the future. Refer to Drop a Pin for Bad Addresses for complete instructions.
Sometimes a record may geocode, but it may not be accurate. First, click Clear Coordinates under the Markers actions tab on the record tooltip to confirm the latitude and longitude have been updated.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, you can manually set the verified location by dragging the marker. Salesforce maps will then save the location in the Verified Location fields. Refer to Using Set Verified Location for complete instructions.
