Certain features in Salesforce Maps, like check-in, mileage administration, and live tracking, may need access to your location. By allowing Salesforce Maps to use your device's location, you are giving the app permission to access your location. Keep in mind that using a VPN or other programs that can alter your device's physical location may affect this, as Salesforce cannot control the location data provided by your device.
Prerequisites:
1. On the first time app startup you should receive the following prompt: “Allow Salesforce Maps to access this device's location?”
2. Select Allow.
NOTE: If you do not see this prompt, please see Turn on Location Services in phone settings
3. After selecting Allow, users will be prompted to allow the Maps VF page to access their current location.
2. Select OK.
NOTE: Allowing Salesforce Maps to access your current location will place a blue marker on the map indicating your current location. Your Map View will automatically change to focus on your location.
