Use Set Verified Location in Maps

Publiceringsdatum: May 4, 2026
Beskrivning

Occasionally, geocoded records may not be placed accurately. The geocoded location may be either across the street or down the road from the actual location. You can easily correct this with the Set Verified Location action button.

Lösning

Geocoding in Salesforce Maps uses address data to calculate the latitude and longitude of a record. In some cases, the geocoded coordinates may not match the physical location precisely — for example, a business on a private road or in a new development may plot across the street or at an intersection. Set Verified Location allows users to manually drag the marker to the correct position, and Salesforce Maps stores those corrected coordinates in the Verified Latitude and Verified Longitude fields.

Prerequisites:

Steps:

  1. Plot a Marker layer on the Map.
  2. Click the incorrectly placed Marker. Select the Actions Tab.
  3. Select Set Verified Location.
  4. The marker should turn transparent. Grab it and manually move it to the correct location.
  5. Once you move the marker, Salesforce Maps stores the latitude and longitude fields directly from the map to the Verified Latitude and Verified Longitude fields you created. When Salesforce Maps plots this record again, it will use the Verified Latitude and Verified Longitude fields to plot the marker where you specified.

Scenario: "For example, if a field rep visits a customer and notices their marker is plotted at the wrong entrance to an office park, they can use Set Verified Location to correct it directly from the map without waiting for a geocoding update."
