Udgivelsesdato: Aug 21, 2026
Beskrivelse

Salesforce Maps records each check-in and check-out as an activity, allowing managers to build Salesforce reports that show field visit patterns, GPS coordinates, and visit notes per rep. The Salesforce report below is perfect for understanding a rep's usage of Check In/Check Out within Salesforce Maps, which can provide a whole range of information, such as date of check out, visit notes, and specific GPS coordinates.

This article explains how to build a Salesforce report that tracks Check In and Check Out activity in Salesforce Maps, using the activity records that Salesforce Maps automatically creates for each check-in and check-out.

Prerequisites

  • Salesforce Maps Permission Sets
  • Activity Settings
  • Check object settings to ensure correct access to all fields (this is done on the profile level):
    • Go to Setup > Administer > Manage Users > Profiles.
    • Select a desired profile.
    • Click "Object Settings."
    • Select "Leads" (or whichever object you are using check in/out with).
    • Under "Field Permissions," enable read access on all fields.

Build the Usage Report

  1. Create a new Salesforce Report.
  2. Select the report type "Activities with Accounts" or "Activities with Leads." (Don't see these report types or the object you are looking for? Create a new custom report type.)
  3. Drag and drop the field Subject into the filtering section of the report.
  4. Set the value to "contains" "Check In @" OR "Check Out" (don't forget to add filter logic).
  5. Drag and drop any desired fields into the report.

Example Account fields to include: Created By, Subject, Check Out Date, Account Name, Description.
