When we are logging into our Salesforce accounts on our devices, it may prompt us for a verification code. This verification code can be sent via email. This verification process also occurs when we're resetting our Salesforce password. At times, we may encounter issues with password reset emails being delivered successfully, but verification code emails fails.

When not receiving verification emails, here are ways to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. The traditional way is to request an email log file to gather information if the delivery of verification emails resulted in success or failure.
  2. Password reset emails are sent from "support@salesforce.com," while verification code emails are sent from "noreply@salesforce.com." If we are only having issues with the delivery of verification code emails and the email log file shows successful delivery for it, it means that Salesforce delivered the email successfully but might be filtered on customer's email server. They might need to check if there are filters on their end and or check with their email team to track the email based on the "message-id" and or the sender "noreply@salesforce.com"I

Salesforce also sends a variety of Verification emails for other features  -  note that this article focuses on the Salesforce Login Verification Email.  However for any missing Salesforce Verification email always check the email logs in Salesforce to track the email sending and delivery. For User email and User return email address verification see this article.

Salesforce will never proactively ask for your login credentials or request access to your Salesforce instance by email or phone. If you receive a suspicious message or call claiming to be from Salesforce, please report it immediately at security.salesforce.com/contact.
