View quote documents without a Salesforce CPQ License

In Salesforce CPQ, users must be assigned a Permission Set License in order to access CPQ functionality and records. The steps below detail the process on how to change the attachment location of Quote Documents. Modifying the save location from the quote to the opportunity allows users the ability to access CPQ quote documents without a Salesforce CPQ License.
Solución

The Attachment Target setting can be found in the CPQ package settings menu. The steps below outline how to change the document save location in the CPQ package settings menu:
 

Salesforce Classic

  1. Setup
  2. Installed Packages 
  3. Configure > Salesforce CPQ.
  4. Documents tab.
  5. Attachment Target = Opportunity
  6. Save.

 

Salesforce Lightning

  1. Setup | Apps
  2. Installed Packages 
  3. Configure > Salesforce CPQ.
  4. Documents tab.
  5. Attachment Target = Opportunity
  6. Save.
 


Note: This change grants anyone with permissions to the Opportunity object the ability to view the generated Quote Document in the Notes & Attachments related list. If you would like the generated documents to show in the Files related list please check the Post to Feed? option on the Documents tab in the Salesforce CPQ managed package settings.
