Recipients of 'Scheduled Report did not complete' notifications

Date de publication: Jun 10, 2026
Description

When a scheduled Salesforce report fails to run, typically because the running user account is no longer active, Salesforce sends a notification email with the subject line: "Scheduled Report [Report Name] did not complete."
This article explains which users in the org receive this notification and how to resolve the issue.

Real-Life Example: If a sales manager who was configured as the running user for a weekly pipeline report is deactivated, all org users with the permissions Manage Users, Modify All Data, and Manage Billing will receive the "Scheduled Report did not complete" notification email.

Who Receives the Notification

Users with all three of the following permissions receive the notification email:

  • Manage Users
  • Modify All Data
  • Manage Billing

If no users in the org hold all three permissions, Salesforce relaxes the criteria and sends the notification to users with both of the following permissions:

  • Manage Users
  • Modify All Data

How to Fix It

To stop the notification emails, update the running user on the scheduled report to an active user who has the appropriate permissions to view the report. See the Additional Resources section below for steps on updating the running user.
