Description

In Lightning Experience, users may notice that Edit and Delete options are available in the Campaign History related list on Lead or Contact records—even when they have read-only access to those objects.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open a Lead or Contact record with Campaign History.
  2. Navigate to the Campaign History related list.
  3. Observe the Edit and Delete options for Campaign Member records.

This behavior is expected and works as designed. 

Users have the ability to edit or delete a Campaign Member record under Campaign History in Lightning Experience due to the following permissions assigned to their user account:

To edit/delete a Contact Campaign Member record:

  • Read permission on Campaign
    AND
  • Read permission on Contact

To edit/delete a Lead Campaign Member record:

  • Read permission on Campaign
    AND
  • Read permission on Lead
