Marketing Cloud Engagement | How Date and DateTime Field Values Are Handled in Marketing Cloud Connector

Veröffentlichungsdatum: Oct 13, 2022
Beschreibung

Explains the behavior when Date and DateTime fields prepared in Sales/Service Cloud are synchronized to Marketing Cloud via Marketing Cloud Connector.

Lösung
The servers running Marketing Cloud use CST (Central Standard Time) as the system time zone. Daylight saving time is not applied — the offset is always UTC-6:00 (JST -15:00).
When Date and DateTime field values from Sales/Service Cloud are synchronized to Marketing Cloud via Marketing Cloud Connector, the Synchronized Data Source behaves as follows:
  • Date fields: The date value entered in Sales/Service Cloud is stored as-is, regardless of time zone.
  • DateTime fields: The value is stored converted to CST (UTC-6:00).

Example: When the Sales/Service Cloud user's time zone is set to JST (GMT+9:00)
Assume the following fields:
  • Field A — System DateTime field (e.g., CreatedDate, LastModifiedDate)
  • Field B — Custom DateTime field (user-editable)
  • Field C — Custom Date field (user-editable)

■ Values displayed in Sales/Service Cloud UI

  • Field A: 2026/04/20 10:32 (JST, GMT+9:00)

  • Field B: 2026/04/20 10:30 (JST, GMT+9:00)

  • Field C: 2026/04/20 (as entered)

■ Values stored on Sales/Service Cloud

  • Field A: 2026-04-20T01:32:00.000Z (GMT, JST-9:00)

  • Field B: 2026-04-20T01:30:00.000Z (GMT, JST-9:00)

  • Field C: 2026-04-20 (as entered)

■ Values stored in Synchronized Data Source after Marketing Cloud Connector sync

  • Field A: 2026-04-19 19:32:00 (CST, UTC-6:00 / JST-15:00)

  • Field B: 2026-04-19 19:30:00 (CST, UTC-6:00 / JST-15:00)

  • Field C: 2026-04-20 00:00:00 (date value as entered)
