Marketing Cloud import error: 'Import Validation: CaseSensitiveSalesforceID' during import to a Data Extension

Udgivelsesdato: Jul 31, 2025
Beskrivelse
While attempting an import into a Marketing Cloud Data Extension, you may see the following validation error:  ValidationErrors: CaseSensitiveSalesforceID

When importing into a Data Extension, the Marketing Cloud has validation tools in place that look for Salesforce Standard Field Record ID Prefixes.

Learn how to resolve these issues by reviewing the below information.
Løsning
Resolution 1 - I am importing Salesforce Data that contains 15 character IDs:

If you have Salesforce IDs in your import file that are 15 characters, convert them to 18 character IDs using the steps in 'Convert a 15 character ID to an 18 character ID' then export your data again.  The Marketing Cloud is not case sensitive so we require unique 18 character values are imported so they remain unique.

Resolution 2 - My import file does not contain anything related to Salesforce IDs:

If your import file contains 15 character IDs that are not related to Salesforce IDs and they begin with any of the Standard Field Record ID Prefixes, you may also see this same error as the import validation recognizes these IDs as potential Case Sensitive Salesforce IDs, even though they may not be.

This is most common for international phone number imports. If you cannot modify this data to remove the similarities with the Salesforce Standard Field Record ID Prefixes, please create a Case with the Marketing Cloud Support Team via Salesforce Help to request your account be updated to bypass the "CaseSensitiveSalesforceID" validation checks.
