Populate add-on date fields in Salesforce CPQ

Veröffentlichungsdatum: Aug 28, 2025
Beschreibung

In Salesforce CPQ users can Create an Add-On Opportunity and Quote to add more products to a contract and to ensure that they terminate on the same date as the existing subscriptions. This article will provide an example of how dates are mapped from the Contract and Subscriptions to the Add-On Quote and Quote Lines.

In this example we will be creating an Add-on Quote for a Contract when the Contract's Start Date is 1/1/2025, End Date is 12/31/2026, and Subscriptions exist for a standalone Subscription Product and one two year MDQ Product

Lösung
  1. In Salesforce Classic, navigate to the Account and set the Contract Co-termination fields to allow users to create Add-on Quotes
    1. Contract Co-Termination: Prompt
    2. Co-Termination Event: Add-on
  2. Navigate to one of the Contract's on the Account and make sure the Contract Status is Active.
  3. Navigate to the Account and create a new Opportunity
  4. Navigate to the Opportunity's Quotes related list and click New Quote to create an Add-on Quote
    1. Primary: True
    2. Type: Quote
    3. Start Date: 6/1/2025
  5. Select the Contract with Start Date 1/1/2025 and End Date 12/31/2026
  6. Click Add Products and select a Subscription Product and an annual MDQ Product
  7. Save the Quote and observe how the date fields have been populated for the newly added subscription products

Considerations:

  1. Coterminous Add-on behavior will follow the same logic as Amendments, the End Dates are populated based on the Contract's Amendment & Renewal Behavior, but Amendment Quote Lines are not created for Add-ons. As such all Quote Lines added on Add-on quotes are considered Net New Lines and will co-term to the Contract selected as the Master Contract.
  2. Due to the Differences between Salesforce CPQ in Lightning and Classic, users will not be prompted to select the master contract when creating an Add-on Quote in Salesforce Lightning. In order to create Add-on Quotes in Lightning, users will have to populate the Quote's Master Contract and Admins will have to use a customization to populate the Quote's Start Date, End Date, and First Segment Term End Date (if applicable).
