Date mappings when Renew Subscriptions button is used in Salesforce CPQ

Publiseringsdato: Jul 8, 2025
Beskrivelse
One approach to creating a Renewal in Salesforce CPQ is by using the 'Renew Subscriptions' action, which is detailed in the Use a Single Renewal Quote for All of an Account's Subscriptions help article.

****Note - may not be relevant*** When a Renewal Quote is generated from a Contract or Service Contract in Salesforce CPQ by checking Renewal Quoted, there are several factors that may change how Start Date and End Date is populated on Renewal Quotes and Renewal Quote Lines.

The Contract/Service Contract Fields Renewal Term and Amendment and Renewal Behavior will change how the Renewal Quote and Renewal Quote Line fields are populated depending on the Subscription/Contract Line Item's Start Date and End Date and type of product that is being renewed. **********

When using this approach, The Renewal Quote Start Date will be the date defined by the ‘Amendment & Renewal Behavior’ value on the Contract and will flow through to the Quote Line for the Renewed Subscriptions’ ‘Effective Start Date’.
The Renewal Quote End Date or Subscription term will be null by default.
The Quote line (if no Subscription term or End Date is defined on the Renewal Quote) will use it's default sub term until one is defined for the Quote.

Note: The intent with the "Renew Subscriptions" functionality is if an organization wants to create a Single Renewal Quote for all of an Account's Subscriptions, and then pass End Date or Subscription term on the Quote Level to create one Renewal Contract. Differing End Dates at the Quote Line or Quote Line Group Level( if Quote Contracting Method is ‘Single Contract’) will create a Single Contract with all of the different Subscription end dates populated or if the Contracting Method is ‘By Subscription End Date’  will create separate contracts for all the different Subscriptions End Dates

The following example will look at how Renewal Quotes are generated when the Contract's Start Date is 1/1/2018, End Date is 12/31/2019, and Renewal Term is 24. We will break this example into several use cases depending on how fields are populated on your Contract or Service Contract.

  1. Create a Renewal Quote
  2. Click Renew Subscriptions
    1. Appears as a child action found by selecting the drop down next to Add Products
  3. Save the Quote and observe the Quote Line Dates
