LinkedIn Lead Generation through Sales

Publish Date: Apr 30, 2026
Description

The LinkedIn Lead Gen integration allows you to automatically capture leads from your LinkedIn advertising campaigns directly into Salesforce. When someone fills out a lead form on your LinkedIn ad, their information is automatically created as a Lead record in Agentforce Sales, formerly known as Sales Cloud and can sync to Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (MCAE, formerly Pardot). This eliminates manual data entry and ensures faster follow-up on advertising leads.

If you are currently using LinkedIn Ads as part of your lead generation strategy, you can now seamlessly bring those leads into Salesforce and Marketing Cloud Account Engagement.

LinkedIn Lead Gen advertisements integrates with Sales and requires only a few basic setup steps, outlined here.

*Please note: This functionality is enabled and managed entirely in Sales. For any questions around setup or troubleshooting, please reach out to Salesforce Technical Support.*

Resolution

Below are the key considerations and setup requirements for using LinkedIn Lead Gen with Sales and Marketing Cloud Account Engagement. Review these requirements before configuring the integration to ensure successful lead capture and syncing.

Considerations for LinkedIn Leads:

  • To set up LinkedIn Lead Gen, admins need the Modify All Data permission
  • This functionality is available in both Salesforce Classic and Lightning
  • Up to 500 leads per day may be generated via LinkedIn Ads*
  • You can set up automations to properly route and manage leads
    • In Salesforce, you can create lead assignment rules that will assign the lead to a user or a queue
    • In MCAE, you can create automation rules based on the Lead Source field value; this can route the newly created prospect into Engagement Studio programs or segmented lists
  • For MCAE syncing to occur:
    • The MCAE connector user must have all expected permissions**
    • If AMPSEA (Allowing Multiple Prospects with the Same Email Address) is not enabled, the connector setting “Automatically create prospects in MCAE if they are created as a Lead or Contact in Salesforce” must be enabled

*If more than 500 leads are created per day, the additional leads will be emailed to the default lead creator, as specified when setting up the LinkedIn integration.

**Selective syncing may limit or interfere with this functionality
