Beskrivelse
Salesforce CPQ and Salesforce Billing are managed packages that can be installed into the Salesforce platform using installation links. A similar process is used to upgrade Salesforce CPQ and Salesforce Billing.
Løsning

NOTE: We recommend that you test new releases of any package in a Sandbox environment before installing in Production. If a problem is encountered, log a case with customer support.

After a package upgrade into a Sandbox, it is not possible to revert to an earlier version except by refreshing from the Production org. If a Production org is accidentally upgraded, the only way to revert back is by restoring all the data and metadata from a full Sandbox. Restoring from a Sandbox has the potential for data loss.

Initial Installation

A link to the Installation links page can be found on the order form that the customer signed to purchase the licenses. This link can be used anytime to obtain the latest version. Salesforce CPQ shows as 'Trial' upon initial installation into a Production environment. Every Tuesday and Friday, Salesforce reviews new installs and activates them. Note that there is no difference in the functionality of the package whether it's set to 'Trial' or 'Active'.

Upgrades

The latest installation links can always be accessed from the page on the initial order form. You can obtain the upgrade schedule and reference installation links for the following packages here

  • Salesforce CPQ
  • Salesforce Billing
  • Advanced Approvals
  • Service Cloud for Salesforce CPQ
  • Einstein Analytics for Salesforce CPQ
  • AuthorizeDotnet for Salesforce Billing
  • CyberSource for Salesforce Billing
  • Payeezy for Salesforce Billing

See this article for important information that is specific to installing into Salesforce Professional Edition.

Upgrade or installation links for Salesforce Advanced Approvals can be obtained by opening a case with Salesforce CPQ support. Please specify in your case description if this is for a Salesforce Professional Edition Org. Salesforce CPQ and Billing works with Service Cloud with some limitations. Upgrade and installation links for Salesforce Billing can be obtained by opening a case with Salesforce CPQ support. Salesforce Billing requires Salesforce CPQ to be installed first.

Procedure

1. Make sure to enable the following:

  • Email Deliverability to All Users
  • Chatter
  • Orders
  • CRM content

2. If you use multiple orgs, log out of all of them except the org you want to install into. Or, use a private browser window to log into the org you want to install into.
3. Copy and paste the installation link into the browser address bar.
4. Make sure to use a Sandbox link to install into a Sandbox or a Production link if you are installing into Production.
5. When asked, Install for All Users.
6. Approve Third-Party Access.

When the installation completes, you should receive an email confirmation.

Additional information on installing managed packages can be found in this article. Note that when you install Salesforce CPQ or Salesforce Billing, Salesforce checks and verifies dependencies. An installer’s organization must meet all dependency requirements listed on the Show Dependencies page or else the installation will fail. In addition, all unit tests for your organization are run, including the unit tests contained in the new package. If a unit test relies on a component that is initially installed as inactive, such as a workflow rule, this unit test might fail and the upgrade or new package will not be installed.
