Email address changes in Sales do not update in Marketing Cloud

The Email Address in the All Subscribers list doesn't get updated automatically when changed in Agentforce Sales, formerly known as Sales Cloud, even when using Synchronized Data Extensions or SF Imports to Data Extensions.

There are 2 workarounds for updating the changed Email Address in Marketing Cloud:
 
1. Manually update the Email addresses individually from the Email Subscriber in the All Subscribers List and update the Email address field in the pop-up window. 

2. Mass update multiple Email Subscribers. You may import a CSV file and perform an Import update against the All Subscribers List. There are 3 fields which are required.
 
  • Email Address
  • Status
  • Subscriber Key

This process can be automated implementing the import in Automation Studio.

Additionally, the Email Address in All Subscribers list can be updated via any of the following:

  • As a result of a send targeting a Salesforce Data Extension with the updated email address included
  • Sending directly to that record from the Salesforce side of Marketing Cloud Connect
  • Sending to that record via a Salesforce Report or Campaign

 

NOTE: This workaround will not apply to accounts with Field-Level Encryption since this is not a supported method for Field-Level Encryption Data Imports.
