This article explains the maximum number of custom fields allowed on the Activity object, organized by Salesforce Edition. The Activity object has unique field limits because it spans both Task and Event records. These limits help maintain optimal performance when querying activities across your organization.

The Activity object has unique field limits because it spans both Task and Event records. These limits help maintain optimal performance when querying activities across your organization.

 

Maximum Limit:

100 (for Enterprise, Unlimited, Developer, and Performance Editions)

 

How to Check Your Current Limit:

Submit a limit increase request with Salesforce Support

Review the Custom Fields Allowed Per Object documentation before reaching out to Support.

 

Resolution

To check the current number of Activity custom fields in your org, follow the steps below:

Classic:

  1. Go to Setup
  2. In the Quick Find Box, type Activities
  3. Click on Activity Limits
  4. Check the limit on the Custom Fields row

Lightning:

  1. Click the Gear Icon
  2. Select Setup
  3. Click on the Object Manager tab
  4. Select the Activity object
  5. Click on Object Limits
  6. Check the limit on the Custom Fields row

 

Feature Notes:

  • The Activity object is unique in that it has its own limits. Additionally, fields from managed packages are counted toward these limits. Fields from managed packages will be included in totals displayed on the Object Limits page.

  • This is a hard-coded limit and cannot be increased by Support.
