Outlook Integration Side Panel Returns an Error after Attempt to Authenticate in a Web Browser

Дата публикации: May 2, 2026
Описание

When using the Salesforce Outlook Integration in a web browser, users may see the following error during authentication:

Error: "We encountered a problem. For Help, contact your administrator."

This error occurs due to a browser cookie setting that blocks third-party cookies required by the Salesforce Outlook Integration.

Решение

The Salesforce Outlook Integration requires third-party cookies to be enabled in your web browser to complete authentication. Follow the steps below to disable the Block third-party cookies setting in your browser.

Steps to Disable Block Third-Party Cookies in Your Browser

  • Open your web browser.
  • Navigate to the browser's Settings menu (typically accessible from the top-right corner).
  • Under Privacy and Security (or equivalent), click Cookies and other site data (or equivalent setting).
  • Deselect or toggle off Block third-party cookies.

Note:
The exact setting name and location may vary depending on your browser. Refer to your browser's help documentation if needed.

Important Notes

  • Different web browsers may use different names for this setting, but the requirement remains the same: third-party cookies must be allowed for the Salesforce Outlook Integration to authenticate successfully.
  • In Salesforce, the Require first-party use of Salesforce cookies setting functions similarly to blocking third-party cookies. If this setting is enabled in the Salesforce org, the Salesforce Outlook Integration may not authenticate successfully. Ensure this setting is disabled if authentication issues occur.
