To ensure permanent deletion when removing these fields:
In Salesforce Classic
Click Deleted Fields at the bottom of the list of custom fields and relationships. The number in parentheses indicates the total number of deleted custom fields for this object. This link only displays when you have a deleted custom field.
In Lightning Experience
Click Deleted Fields button at the upper right section of the Fields & Relationships page. This button is available regardless if there are deleted fields or none for the object.
Note: Deleted custom fields and their data is stored until your organization permanently deletes them or 15 days have elapsed, whichever happens first. For more information, see Manage Deleted Custom Fields.
Open a case with Salesforce support, and make sure to include the following details:
1. Organization ID where the Permanent Deletion (PD) should take place, and indicate whether this is a sandbox or production organization.
2. Authorization to run the PD. Note: We can't limit a custom field physical delete to a specific object, this is over the entire organization.
3. In order for the PD to be most beneficial, it’s recommended that you manually empty recycle bins before running the PD.
4. Permission to log in as an Administrator.
5. Object name where the error appears.
6. Exact text of the error message received.
For Performance or Unlimited edition orgs: You can initiate a Physical Delete without needing to log a case with Support, by using the Purge button. If your allocation for custom fields is at 75% or higher for the current object, you should see a Purge button on the Deleted Fields page. The Purge button initiates the hard-delete process sooner than the automated process would otherwise run.
