Email Tracking Does Not Work with Outlook Integration or Gmail Integration

The email tracking is not being returned because an image in the email has been blocked.

The prerequisites to this feature: 
  • Users must have a Salesforce Inbox license.
  • Users must use the email client of Gmail or MS Outlook or Outlook on the Web
Ratkaisu

In both Outlook and Gmail, the sender of the email must ensure that Inbox side panel is launched before they start composing the email. This is to allow the pixel file used to generate email tracking to get inserted in the body of the email.
 

To unblock automatic picture downloads in email messages


In Gmail
  1. Open Gmail.
  2. In the top right, click Settings.
  3. Click See all Settings.
  4. On the General tab, scroll down to the 'Images' section.
  5. Select Always display external images.

In MS Outlook version (2010, 2013 & 2016)
  1. On the Files tab, choose Options then select Trust Center.
  2. Under Microsoft Outlook Trust Center, click Trust Center Settings.
  3. Deselect the Don't download pictures automatically in HTML email messages or RSS items check box.
