Using Seed lists in Account Engagement

Beskrivelse

Why shouldn't I use seed lists to test deliverability?

  • Your seed list mailboxes might not behave like 'real' mailboxes -- is it getting other emails? Is it frequently used? Are there spam filter methods in place? Real mailboxes are 'trained' through user interaction to behave in certain ways.
  • Major email providers recommend against using seed lists to test deliverability -- seed lists don't have typical user profiles, so you won't get a good idea of whether your email would land in a prospect's inbox or spam folder.

    What do we recommend instead?

There are a few things you can do to make sure your emails look great and get delivered.

    • To increase the chance that your email will land in an inbox, be a reputable sender -- monitor your sender scorekeep your lists clean, and adhere to the permission-based marketing policy.
    • Use test lists to confirm that your formatting looks great, populated data is correct, and that all links point to the correct places.
    • Use the Advanced Email Analytics to test how your email renders in browsers, preview your subject lines, and run a Spam Analysis. This option is included in our Plus, Advanced and Premium Editions. It is available as an add-on for our Growth Edition.
