Error ‘insufficient privileges’ in Salesforce Opportunity Clone Creation

Cause 1: Missing Read and Create Permission on Opportunities

A user will receive the 'Insufficient Privileges` error message when cloning an Opportunity when they do not have Read and Create permission on the Opportunity object.

Cause 2: Invalid Lookup Reference on a Related Record

This can also occur if the user does not have proper access to related records via a child or parent relationship. To resolve this issue, remove the reference to the invalid lookup and the User will be able to clone the Opportunity successfully.
