View events through a shared calendar

When users view events from a calendar shared by a coworker, the event details page and event preview card will show different details depending on the level of access granted by the coworker.

'Hide Detail' or 'Hide Detail and Add Events' access

When your coworker grants 'Hide Detail' or 'Hide Detail and Add Events' access, you will see a 'busy' placeholder on their calendar at the time of the event. You will be unable to see any details about the event. 

 

'Show Detail' or 'Show Detail and Add Events' access

When your coworker grants 'Show Detail' or 'Show Detail and Add Events' access, you will have access to a hard-coded preview card and event details page that shows the following fields:

For the preview card: 
  • Subject
  • Start
  • End

For the event details page: 
  • Subject
  • Location
  • Start
  • End
  • All-Day Event
  • Description  

It is not possible to for your system administrator to customize this page.

In order to see additional detail about the event, including any customized Lightning page created by your administrator, you must either own the event, or have access to it through role hierarchy or sharing settings.
