Einstein Forecasting Analytics App Error: Forecast Hierarchy Not Set Up Correctly

The following error may occur when trying to enable Einstein Forecasting:
"Something went wrong with creating the Einstein Forecasting Analytics app."

When a customer enables Einstein Forecasting, an Einstein Forecasting Dataflow is added to Analytics Studio. You can view this Dataflow in the Data Manager. 

Dataflow error in Einstein Forecasting app:
"Something went wrong while executing the flatten(ForecastHierarchy) node: parent_field does not have any data (all rows have null values)"

Einstein Forecasting relies on a fully configured Forecast Hierarchy to build its underlying Analytics dataflow. If any role in the hierarchy is missing a manager or assigned user, the dataflow node cannot flatten the hierarchy and will abort with this error.

Your forecast hierarchy must be set up to ensure that forecast managers see all subordinates’ forecast amounts. More considerations for this are found: Considerations for Setting Up Einstein Forecasting

Complete the Forecast Hierarchy ensuring at least (1) user is assigned to each role with a manager assigned. 

Once you have completed the Forecast Hierarchy, re-run the Einstein Forecasting Dataflow to ensure it successfully runs.
