CRM Analytics Growth to CRM Analytics Plus License Migration

CRM Analytics and Einstein Discovery customers upgrading to CRM Analytics Plus licenses need to have new permission sets associated with the new licenses. The old permission set licenses are Analytics Platform, Einstein Discovery Analyst PSL, and Einstein Discovery User PSL. Users with those permission set licenses will need to be assigned the new CRM Analytics Plus permission set license to continue using CRM Analytics (Tableau CRM) and Discovery, as the old licenses and permission sets (both standard and custom) are disabled when customers upgrade to CRM Analytics Plus. Additionally, scheduled jobs, such as dataflows and calculated fields, are also disabled.

Please note the following issues:

  • All existing CRM Analytics users will lose access to CRM Analytics assets.
  • All scheduled jobs associated with the user are disabled and will not work.
  • If there is an existing user on the Salesforce Platform that is performing updates of scheduled jobs or calculating fields, the functionality will not work and the Salesforce Platform will throw errors.

 
The old, standard permission sets are CRM Analytics Platform Admin and CRM Analytics Platform User. The table below illustrates the System Permissions that are enabled within the two permission sets:

Migrating to CRM Analytics Plus requires reassigning all users to new permission set licenses, as old Analytics Platform and Einstein Discovery PSLs (Permission Set Licenses) are disabled upon upgrade.

 

Follow the steps below to restore access and reschedule any affected jobs.

While an automatic solution to migrate to new permission sets is not available, you can assign them as follows:

1. Identify whether users need a standard, out-of-the-box or a custom permission set. If they require a custom permission set, then create a new one. Otherwise, map them to one of the standard permission sets.
2. Based on the above step, assign users the new permission sets and permission set licenses.

 

The standard permission sets for the CRM Analytics Plus license are CRM Analytics Plus Admin and CRM Analytics Plus User. The two permission sets come with the following System Permissions enabled:

After users are assigned new permission sets and licenses:

  • Log in as the users that had jobs scheduled.
  • Review the scheduled jobs and recreate any that are missing.
  • Ensure that the scheduled jobs are accurate.
