When changing the Name or Label of a custom field that is referenced in Process Builder, please be aware of the following behaviors:
1. When a Custom Field Label is updated, any pre-existing Processes which reference that Field will continue to display the original Field Label. This is also true for new versions cloned from those pre-existing versions.
To address this, create a new version of the Process and select the updated Field Label for any Criteria or Actions in the Process.
Note: This behavior will not cause errors with pre-existing Processes, but it can be confusing to manage those Processes later if they are not updated with the current Field Label.
2. When a Custom Field Name is updated, existing active Processes may continue to refer to the old Name and will fail.
To address this, simply save and activate a new version of the affected Process. The new version will pick up the changes to the Field Name and will operate normally.
