Cannot Sign In To Salesforce Data Loader With OAuth

Description

When your organization has Session Settings set to 'Enable caching and autocomplete on login page', or your users store or save passwords in their browser, they may encounter an issue when they attempt to log in to Data Loader via the OAuth option. 

Data Loader is a client application.  To start Data Loader, double click the Data Loader icon on your Desktop or in your Applications folder.

Résolution

Quick workarounds when Data Loader OAuth login fails: 

  • Log in through your web browser, and then log in through Data Loader.
  • Log in via Data Loader password authentication.
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies using the steps for your specific OS and browser in the following Knowledge Articles:


Alternative workaround:

1.  Click Edit List at the login prompt.
2.  Remove the username you were trying to sign in with.
3.  Select Log in with a Different Username.
4.  Enter your login credentials.
