Set up and Troubleshoot myTrailhead access

myTrailhead requires assigning users to Permission Set Licenses and custom Permission Sets to enable access. For more details see Permissions Sets and Licenses.
 

Overall steps:

 
A) Assign Permission Set Licenses to users

B) Create New myTrailhead Permission Set

C) Assign Permission Sets to users

 

A) Assign Permission Set License


1. From Setup, enter Users in the Quick Find box, then select Users.

2. Click the name of the user to whom you want to assign the permission set license.

3. In the Permission Set License Assignments related list, click Edit Assignments.

4. Select the permission set license 'myTrailhead' to assign.

5. If you do not see the license for 'myTrailhead', reach out to your Account Executive to acquire the MyTrailhead License.
 

B) Create and Assign Permission Set:


1. From Setup, enter Permission Sets in the Quick Find box, then select Permission Sets.

2. Click New.

3. Enter your permission set information and set 'License' to myTrailhead

4. If you do not see the license for 'myTrailhead', reach out to your Account Executive to acquire the MyTrailhead License.

5. Click Save

6. Click 'System Permissions'

7. Click Edit

8. Select the appropriate myTrailhead permissions and Save. Reference Assign Permissions for more details.
 

C) Assign Permission Sets to users


1. On the permission set's page click 'Manage Assignments' select the desired users and click 'Add Assignments'

NOTE: Please make sure that only myTrailhead permissions are assigned to this Permission set. If you assign any other system permissions along with myTrailhead permissions the user might not see the correct options within myTrailhead setup menu. It can take up to 10 minutes for the newly assigned permission set to propagate into your myTrailhead environment and allow new access.
