Request Microsoft SNDS access for dedicated IPs

Publish Date: Dec 1, 2025
Description

The Microsoft Hotmail and Outlook SNDS (Smart Network Data Services) interface can aid deliverability troubleshooting, providing a color-coded (Red, Yellow, Green) reputation overview and aggregate statistics relating to spam complaints and spam trap hits.  Microsoft SNDS is a free service offered by Microsoft.

Use these steps to request access to the SNDS Reputation Statistics user interface and data for your Marketing Cloud or Pardot sending IP addresses. Once access is configured, you can log into your SNDS account to view reputation statistics.

Resolution

A. Navigate to the Outlook.com SNDS website and login. Click Request Access and submit with these details:

  1. Network to request access for: Dedicated IP address or range.
  2. Send mail to the chosen address: abuse@salesforce.com
  3. Comments: Company name and Marketing Cloud MID.

Selecting an address besides abuse@salesforce.com will lead to rejection of the request.

B. In Salesforce Help portal, create a support case indicating that an SNDS access request has been submitted:.

  1. Subject: Microsoft SNDS access
  2. Description
    1. Email of your Microsoft account
    2. Email the access request was sent to: abuse@salesforce.com
    3. IP range(s) requested
  3. After clicking out of the description, confirm that the Product / Topic value 'Marketing - Engagement - Email Deliverability' is selected. If not, select it manually to ensure the case is routed correctly.

A verification message is sent to our admin address. The support case acts as a liaison with the deliverability operations team, which will review and approve the request.

Notes:

  • Do not attempt to configure the JMRP (Junk mail Reporting Program). All SFMC addresses are enrolled in JRMP with complaints ingested into our platform for handling.
  • SNDS requests are honored for dedicated sending IPs only.
  • When requesting multiple IPs that are not part of a continuous range, separate requests should be submitted.
  • EMEA (Stack 50, 51) customers are issued IPs managed by the RIPE internet registry. SNDS access requests depend on owner lookups at RIPE's directory service, but Microsoft's requests are frequently rate-limited by the registry's API. This causes the error "Sorry, whois.ripe.net will not let us do any more lookups today. Please come back and try again tomorrow", preventing SNDS from returning our admin contact address abuse@salesforce.com. As a workaround, customers may have the access request sent to one of the displayed addresses and approve the request themselves, if they able to access messages sent to those inboxes.
