After installing and authenticating Salesforce Outlook Integration, users may see the following error when clicking on emails in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Web Access (OWA):
"Sorry to interrupt. This page has an error. You might just need to refresh it. First, would you give us some details? (We're reporting this as error ID:)..."
This error is typically caused by a Field Level Security (FLS) restriction that prevents Salesforce Outlook Integration from parsing Account information associated with Contacts. FLS (Field Level Security) controls which fields each user profile can read or edit in Salesforce.

Lösning

This error is related to Field Level Security (FLS) settings in Salesforce. Salesforce Outlook Integration requires read access to the Account Name field on the Contact object for affected user profiles. Follow the steps below to grant this access.

In Salesforce Classic:

  1. Go to Setup | Administer | Security Controls | Field Accessibility | Contact.
  2. Choose to view by Record Types, Profiles, or Fields.
  3. Alternatively, search for Field Accessibility in Setup and locate Contact.
  4. Find the Account Name field and ensure the relevant profiles have at least Read access.

In Lightning Experience:

  1. Go to Gear Icon | Setup | Security | Field Accessibility | Contact.
  2. Choose to view by Record Types, Profiles, or Fields.
  3. Alternatively, search for Field Accessibility in Setup and locate Contact.
  4. Find the Account Name field and ensure the relevant profiles have at least Read access.
