Salesforce CPQ reconfiguration does not retain Configuration Attributes or fire Product Rules

Description
Configuration Attributes values can map to quote lines from the Product Option, but should have twin fields that exist on the Product Option and Quote Line. Upon reconfiguration of a bundle, those values are held in the Product Option field for associated Product Options, connected by the Configuration Attribute.
Résolution

To retain the Configuration Attribute values:

  • Users need Edit Permissions on the Product Option object for Configuration Attributes to hold their value upon reconfiguration.
  • SBQQ__HasConfigurationAttributes__c must be TRUE on the Product record containing the Configuration Attributes in order to retain their values

Additionally, if you have Product Rules that include Error Conditions utilizing those Configuration Attributes/Product Option values, it can also keep those Product Rules from firing.

Enable Edit permission for profiles that will be using Configuration Attribute/Product Option values on configuration, reconfiguration, or with Product Rules.
