Proactive Alert Monitoring: Web-To-X Request Limit

Salesforce applies a limit to the total number of Web-to-X requests that can be processed per day. If you receive either of the following error messages, your organization may be restricted from creating specific web-to-x requests until the issue is resolved.

Examples of affected functionality from custom integrations:

  • Website contact forms
  • Web-to-case functionality
  • Web-to-lead functionality

Causes

High limit consumption can be caused by a number of factors, mainly:

  • Non-obfuscated Web-to-X coding leading to risk of web threads
  • Spam attacks

Here are a few suggestions and resources that may help to resolve this error.
 

Non-obfuscated Web-To-X coding

  • Avoid including easily accessible source code on your website including your unique organization ID. This will prevent direct targeting of your Salesforce instance against web threats.
 

Web-To-X requests being spammed

  • Always implement CAPTCHA rules wherever possible to reduce spam volume. You can also setup validation rules to prevent spam from repeated case creation.
