When working with Knowledge articles in a Salesforce Community (also known as Experience Cloud), an admin or user may receive the following error:
"This feature is not currently enabled either for this record type or the given user type or org."
Cause: This error occurs when Topics are not enabled for the relevant Article Types in the Salesforce Knowledge settings. Topics must be enabled on Article Types before they can be used in Community Article Management.
Topics in Salesforce Knowledge allow articles to be organized and discovered by topic tags within Communities and Experience Cloud sites. If Topics are not enabled for the Article Type being accessed, this error appears.
To resolve this error, an administrator should enable Topics for the relevant Article Types in Salesforce Knowledge settings.
Follow the steps outlined in the official Salesforce documentation:
Refer to the Salesforce Help documentation: Enable Topics for Articles
