Considerations for missing data in Communities Analytics packages.


There are two supported packages available on AppExchange that enable the use of Communities Analytics trending data, including delivery of dashboards, reports, and actionable Insights for Salesforce Communities.

Organizations may find that data appears to be missing for certain timeframes. Below are some considerations that can be useful in determining whether there’s a problem that needs investigating.

Before logging a Support Case, ensure the appropriate package (with or without Chatter) is installed and updated to the current version per the links above. If your package is up to date and there’s still a perceived issue, note the following considerations:
  • Data is only populated for ACTIVE status orgs (that is, a Status of 'Active') with ACTIVE communities. We don’t support trending data in Sandboxes with a 'Demo' status.
  • For the package without Chatter, you only get: two home dashboards and the Overview, Members, and Licenses Usage dashboards.
  • Insights are only available in the Communities Management AppExchange package with Chatter.
  • Trending metrics are calculated on a daily basis.
  • For a given day, if a Community has no activity, a 0 will be populated for that day.
  • Review the details of each Report Type in our Implementation Guide to ensure the correct report is being used to obtain the intended information. Note: Several reports require specifying Filters or License Limits in order to function properly.
 
If none of the above considerations explain missing data and a given day has 'no data' (as opposed to a 'zero'), contact Support as soon as possible for an investigation.
