When you attempt to validate or deploy an inbound change set that contains at least one page layout, you may encounter an error message:
This error occurs when a change set containing a custom page layout references a Lookup or Master-Detail related list in Custom Console Components, but the underlying custom field was not added to the change set. The 'View/Add Dependencies' button does not automatically detect this dependency.
In source org, when you create a change set with custom page layout and click on “View/Add Dependencies” button, the button doesn’t automatically detect the dependencies associated with the custom Lookup or Master-Detail field.
Here's a sample test case using case object and “Custom Console Components”
This is expected behavior. Salesforce R&D has logged an enhancement to request “View/Add Dependencies” button to pickup the custom field as a dependent for custom page layouts.
To workaround, please add manually add the Lookup or Master-Detail field to change set with the Add button.
