Use this article as a resource to uninstall or install Salesforce for Outlook (SFO). Review our Full uninstall and manual clean-up for Salesforce for Outlook documentation if you have any problems uninstalling Salesforce for Outlook.
Note: You must have SFO version 3.x or later installed in order to connect to Salesforce servers due to TLS 1.0 disablement.

If you are uninstalling to install a new version of SFO, remove the old Salesforce for Outlook database files in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\salesforce.com\Salesforce for Outlook\DB\, then go directly to the 'Install Salesforce for Outlook (SFO)' section below.
First follow the instructions under 'I plan to reinstall SFO in the future' to uninstall SFO and then uninstall the installed prerequisites from your computer using the following steps.
Note: If you have Outlook 2007, look for programs noted below and select them one at a time, then click Uninstall (for Windows Vista/7/8 users) or Remove (Windows XP Users).

Most probably you won't have anything to remove. The PIA is already included in the Office installation and it won't get installed on your machine. VSTO is not installed by the SFO installer either, but you can remove it from your machine if you see it under the list of installed applications in the Control Panel.
With these steps complete, you have uninstalled SFO from your computer.
Before you start your installation, complete the following actions:
Uninstall the existing version and clean up the left over files using the instructions in sections 1 and 2 under 'Uninstall Salesforce for Outlook' above. Once complete, use the steps below to download and install SFO.
