Account Engagement List Emails Vs. Email Templates

Veröffentlichungsdatum: Sep 30, 2025
Beschreibung
Choosing between creating a list email or an email template can be confusing. However, once the difference between the two is understood, it is easy to determine which type of email is appropriate.

Email Templates are used for all automated sends. This includes autoresponder and Engagement Studio emails. Templates can also be used to send List emails, which may be a source of confusion; when creating a list email, you are able to select a pre-built template thereby including already established styling and branding as well as repurposing the template content.
Email Template reporting is only available within Account Engagement and cannot be derived in Salesforce reports.
Completion actions are not available at the Email Template level.

List Emails are created for one-time sends. An example of a one-time send would be a newsletter or an operational email–content that will not need to be repurposed in the future. Once a list email has been sent, it can be copied and edited, however it cannot be reused like a template.
List email reports can be derived within Salesforce by using Engagement History.
Completion actions can be applied to list emails before sending.

Refer to the information below for a simple breakdown of functionality for each email type.
