Unable to View or Create Standard "Opportunity" Report Types

Description
You may find that the standard Opportunity report type may not be available to your end-users. This is due to a limitation on the access of the User object.

Restricting access to the User table can impact the accessibility of report types and existing reports that use those report types. See the impacts in the documentation below:

Résolution

To resolve this issue, one of the four items below must be performed by an Administrator:

  1. Update the profile(s) of the impacted user(s) to include the permission "View All Users".
  2. Update the organization-wide default sharing settings for the User object from "Private" to "Public Read".
  3. Ensure the option for "Standard Report Visibility" has been checked within "Sharing Settings".
  4. Verify that the affected report types have not been hidden.
