Unable to View or Create Standard Opportunity Report Types in Salesforce

Date de publication: Jun 11, 2026
Description

In Salesforce, the standard Opportunity report types (such as Opportunities, and Opportunities with Products) rely on access to User object records to display owner information and related user data. When User Sharing is configured to restrict access to the User object — specifically when the Organization-Wide Default (OWD) for the User object is set to "Private" — users without the "View All Users" permission may find that standard Opportunity report types are unavailable or that existing reports using those types are inaccessible.
Restricting access to the User table can impact the accessibility of report types and existing reports that use those report types. For more details, see:

To restore access to standard Opportunity report types, an Administrator must perform one of the following actions:

Option 1: Grant View All Users Permission

Update the Profile or Permission Set of the affected user to include the View All Users permission. This grants the user access to the User object records required for standard report types.

Option 2: Update User OWD to Public Read

Update the Organization-Wide Default (OWD) sharing settings for the User object from Private to Public Read Only. This allows all users to see User records, restoring report type access.

Option 3: Enable Standard Report Visibility

In Sharing Settings, ensure the option Standard Report Visibility is checked. This allows users to run reports that include User data even when User OWD is Private.

Option 4: Unhide the Report Type

Verify that the affected report types have not been manually hidden. Navigate to Setup > Report Types, locate the Opportunity report type, and confirm it is set to Deployed (not hidden).
