Error when you edit the IsRecurrence or TaskSubtype fields with Data Loader

While using Data Loader to import Tasks or Events, you may receive any one of these error messages:
 
  • 'Unable to create/update fields: IsRecurrence. Please check the security settings of this field and verify that it is read/write for your profile or permission set.'
 
  • 'Unable to create/update fields: TaskSubtype. Please check the security settings of this field and verify that it is read/write for your profile or permission set.'

This is because 'IsRecurrence' and 'TaskSubtype' fields can't be updated.

IsRecurrence indicates whether the task is scheduled to repeat itself (true) or only occurs once (false). This field is read-only on update, but not on create. If this field value is true, then RecurrenceStartDateOnly, RecurrenceEndDateOnly, RecurrenceType, and any recurrence fields associated with the given recurrence type must be populated.

TaskSubType provides standard subtypes to facilitate creating and searching for specific task subtypes. This field isn’t updatable.

Note: IsRecurrence2 events can only be deleted by using the latest version of the Data Loader. To download the latest version of Data Loader, please review Download and Activate the Data Loader. 



 
Solución


Remove the fields from the update. You will be able to upload the rest of the fields.
